MANY THINGS

I used to think of many things

cabbages and kings

sonograms and wedding rings

- and now, it's just the last that rings through my head,

my bed, instead of a plethora

I think only of the single, the double, the triple I could have had

a home run for us

had I only been better.

I used to think of many things

and now I don't.
