SCOTT

Scott sells dreams

that he buys wholesale

from the whores and users

who approach his lair.

He lets them all in

for a little give and take

that he trades up

for something better.

An heirloom watch

becomes a week's rent

and then an heirloom again

in the course of the month.

He brokers deals

with those

who can ill afford it

and profits well.

His unwitting servants

wish there were better ways

happier futures

than those Scott offers

but they are helpless

in the face of it

merely pawns

before Scott's house

where he sells their wares

for the price of his choosing.
