WHATEVER SHAPES

Say what you want

but I say we need each other.

To become everything we ought to be

we need what we each have to offer

the bite, the scratch

the territorial scrapes

where we each insist upon stretching boundaries.

We owe it to ourselves

to pursue one other

in circles

or whatever shapes

we can imagine

for as long as mobius loops

or until we fall, exhausted.

Only then will the world be satisfied

and me, too.
