STORM IV

I have the fire going

a dozen videos

and some good records

cued up to play.

I've got the time off of work

(not that anyone would go in

on a day like today

under these conditions

for a measly paycheck)

and a pot of hot chocolate

simmering

ready to warm me through.

I have most everything I need

to survive

- nay, enjoy -

these intemperate times.

I would have a great time

if not for you.

'Where are you?'

I must mutter

before I don the furry armor

to brave the season

and find you

in the midst of this ice storm.

Only you can make me warm.
