SEEING/HEARING

Across the room,

she mouths "I love you."

Later, I ask her

what she said

and she admits nothing.

"It wasn't important," she says,

loud and clear.

And she thinks I'm deaf

or ignorant.

And I think

that if I could have said it

I would have 'seen' it

and I think

that if she could have said it,

I would have heard it.
