ADEQUOSITY

"You should write that poem," Bernie said,

"I would, but I am retired."

"But," I said, "How can you be retired from following your dreams

doing what you must

becoming what you are?

How can you

stop being you?"

"I hear cats," Bernie said,

"Each cat should have a cat-sized comb.

In a catacomb.

Tee hee."

"Perhaps," I said,

"It is good,

that you are retired."

"What I'm talkin' bout," Bernie replied.

As ever,

he had the last word.
