On a gorgeous sunless day

with war on the news

and grime in the streets

and fetuses in the air

and soot in the air

and anthrax in the air

and hate in the air

and bodies everywhere

and a promising future ever-further

from our field of vision

with all this before me

on this gloomy sunless Monday

I think thoughts only of you

and they are gorgeous.
