SERENDIPITY

Yours is not the face I expected to wake up to this morning

nor the legs encircling me

or the lips breathing on my arm.

I did not anticipate this very strange state of affairs

could not have planned

for the events that led up to us.

Still, I cannot complain

and can only hope that this serendipity

will bless my life

at least once more.
