If my hero were to see me now

he�d be ashamed.

If he saw how I�m living my life

he�d be shocked at the self-loathing

the disrespect

the nigh-criminal attributes

of my existence.

If my hero were to watch me today

he would be sad to have ever known me

shocked to have taught me

sickened to have saved me.

If my hero could only see me now

it would make him doubt his own choices

maybe make him less of the hero

I so admire.
