DEATH

I am going to die

it occurs to me

and it will be soon

not in the relative sense

where my family will be grieving in days

but in the global sense

the tectonic sense

the interalactie blink

of a universe eye

soon I will be dead

and soon there will be none to mourn

the passing

of the morning past

that was my life.

Soon there will be nothing left of me

of us

of everything we know.

Soon

we shall be forgotten

unless we get cracking.
