THE BIG BANG THEORY

I cannot prove it, for it has been years since I have heard from the man, but I believe that Kal's life was punctuated by SEVEN big bangs that molded him in ways even he, with his great brain, could not have imagined.

The first was the explosion of Krypton, which severed him from his home, his birthplace, the source of his strength.

The second was his crash upon Smallville, where he was raised and trained, and became the man he was meant to be.

The next several bangs all fit into the same general theme: the emergence of his abilities.

The first bullet that exploded against his chest, having sped into him.

The first collision with a rushing train.

The first landing upon leapfrogging some tall building.

Subsequently, his fear of the Big Bang that would occur were he ever to love a mortal woman. His power, his lack of control, would be enough to destroy a human, so he always kept apart.

Finally, the Big Bang of the explosion of his adopted planet when, despite all of his great powers and abilities, Kal was unable to stop the human race from destroying itself in war and fire.

These seven explosive elements helped form the legend of Kal, the damned, the superior, the immortal who flies through eternity, always searching for a final bang that will end his misery...
