THE STAND

This is my stand

and I will take it

now

with this planet as my audience

until I see change

I will not move from this spot.

I have chosen this location

as the place

where I will not be pushed around anymore.

I am on strike

and as much as you strike me

smashing me down

I shall not leave

until I see results.

And whatever honking

or screaming

or begging me to get out of this lane

will do no good.

I shall remain here

until I have what I deserve

until I know that it's resolved

until I get what I want.
