THE LONG MARCH

For miles the trekked

through a trial of tears

and straits of suffering

and weeks of weakness

they traveled

and attrition ate them away

slowly.

But the persevered

and they progressed

and as they went somewhere

they got somewhere

proving

yet again

that suffering is a superior catalyst

and that results can be effected

impacted

by the worst of situations.

Theirs was a long march

but it resulted, perhaps,

in what may be seen

as quite august results.
