with an frosty cider by its side

with the promise of banana cream pie

with you.

There was a moment

that promised infinity

that offered up

all opportunities

I had imagined available.

There was a moment

a precious instant

when the world was offered up to me

in my sweaty palm

the world I sought

the world of happiness

the world of eternity.

I should have grasped it

and stopped right there.
