TIME'S RAVAGES

The twins -

the hot twins from our youth,

the twins we watched,

across the street,

within the park,

during those long ago fantasy nights,

the hot twins,

the Anderson twins -

they've gotten old.

The twins are old

and spotted

and spackled with years.

They have suffered.

The Anderson twins are now

a shadow of their former selves.

They are pale imitations

of their prior beauty.

It is sad how they've aged

how much they have deteriorated.

Is there nothing sacred from time's ravages?

With all science has to offer,

why must even the twins atrophy?

Today, as much any day,

it seems, chaos endures.
