TODAY II

Well, Im back

And I must say

Im none too pleased

with what I see.

The lawns, unkempt,

bleed an army of vandal grass

distracting from the wondrous view.

The stones, overturned,

display an utter contempt.

Why are your lands devastated so?

Have the kids come calling

throwing things pell-mell?

It is unacceptable

atrocious what has happened

and the blame goes no further

than here.

It has been too long.

I am so sorry

to have only come

on this beautiful day.

I should have tended to your plot long ago.

Wherever you reside

above these lovely skies

Or beneath this ungroomed grass

I pray that you forgive me.
