You shouldn't hit me.

Shouldn't hurt me.

You shouldn't shove things into me

at such a prodigious rate

your love shouldn't seem so much like hate.

You should be kinder, gentler, naturally.

I shouldn't have to tell you any of this.

Still, I feel compelled to say

you should be nicer to me

sweeter, more caring.

You should like me more

or at least pretend.
