The willow bends

in the wind.

Ice knows to melt

and flow

and mist away

only to come back as ice later.

It is better to ride

along the waves

that the universe creates

so they say.

The willow bends

but a rock does neither.

Stone knows

its place in the universe

and changes for nothing.

Though stone may grow out of something

it doesn't turn

for anything.

Riding along the waves

of the universe

is for the weak.

The strong

learn their place quickly

and others adapt to it.
