before me

distracting and distancing me

from the day-to-day.

I have not lost you

in my mind

as I have elsewhere.

I still see you

with a frequency

that is alarming

for one so far from you.

You are still near

no matter where I run.

Escape seems impossible

which is fine.

For, though it doesn't make like easy

I am glad

that I have not forgotten you.
