ESCAPE VELOCITY

We keep circling the same issues

regularly. Repeatedly,

these same arguments recur.

I'd like it to stop

but the pattern has its perks.

The fight. The break-up, the make-up...

It's a frustrating cycle

with benefits

a favorite record

played constantly,

well-worn, skipping.

"I'm 'enery the eighth..."

"Third verse, same as the first..."

We never get past it.

We may never escape this carousel.

But at least we can remain

listening to the music

enjoying the ride.
