The world set on fire by my prose

my pose copied by all the glitterati

not a dry eye in the house when I speak

seeking me out is a full-on occupation for some

an avocation for many many more.

I have become popular

I have become beloved

I have become all that I'd ever hoped to be

ever wished to be

ever needed to be

and

surprisingly

it is not enough.

I need more.

I need humility

decency

artistry returned to its central core.

No more of this adoration

do I desire.

Now, I hope to be brought down to human dimensions

and so, I request your return

to my daily grind

for you were always the best

for grinding me down to size.
