Do you remember

that windstormy day

where you gave me your hand

gave me your lips

and said you'd given me your heart?

Do you remember how you swore

this was a permanent offer

that we had mated for life

that were destined to be together?

You remember those words

on that day

during our lives?

I thought not

and I wonder

if you do remember

when our love died

when you broke your vow

when our eternal contract expired.
